As 117 athletes gear up for Paris 2024, let’s take a look at which state has the most participants?

Paris: The 2024 Paris Olympics are just around the corner. India is sending 117 athletes to the greatest show on earth. Athletes from various states have left for Paris with the goal of winning medals. Every athlete wants to win a medal in Paris and make their country and themselves proud.

 

Although the number of athletes is slightly less than the Tokyo Olympics, India had a record 124 athletes participating in the previous Olympics. India won a total of 7 medals in Tokyo, including Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold medal in javelin throw.

 

This time, 117 athletes are representing India in the Paris Olympics. There are 70 men and 47 women among them. The Indian squad will compete in 69 events for 95 medals. Athletes from India are participating in 16 competitions.

 

Tennis star Rohan Bopanna is the oldest athlete representing India in the Paris Olympics at the age of 44. The youngest is swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu, who is just 14 years old.

 

Haryana tops the list with the most athletes participating in the Olympics from India. The state is represented by athletes like Neeraj Chopra, Amit Panghal, Manu Bhaker, and Vinesh Phogat.

 

Punjab is in second place with 19 athletes participating. Most of the Indian men’s hockey team is from Punjab.

 

Tamil Nadu is in third place with 13 athletes participating. The state is represented by athletes like Manika Batra and Sharath Kamal in table tennis.

 

PV Sindhu is participating in badminton and is a strong contender for a medal. Sreeja Akula from Telangana is also participating in table tennis.

 

From West Bengal, three athletes are participating – Anush Agarwalla in equestrian, Aihika Mukherjee in table tennis, and Ankita Bhakat in archery. Ankita has won medals in three previous competitions in Paris and will try to repeat her performance this time. Unfortunately, Ava Khatua from West Bengal missed out on participating in the Olympics at the last minute.
