Mumbai: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar had been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2021 due to an injury. Although the son of the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, hadn’t featured in any game this season for MI. And now will be replaced by Delhi-born pacer Simarjeet Singh.

The franchise confirmed Arjun’s replacement in the squad on Wednesday, through a statement, “Mumbai Indians have added Simarjeet Singh as an injury replacement to Arjun Tendulkar for the remainder of their IPL 2021 season.”

“The right arm medium fast bowler has started training with the team after completing the mandatory quarantine as per IPL guidelines,” the statement added.

Simarjeet Singh, 23, has played 15 T20 matches in domestic cricket and has taken 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.76. In 10 first-class games, he has 37 wickets.

Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to go back on track. MI’s three-game losing drought was broken, and Rohit Sharma was pleased.
