Sharjah : Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 92 runs at Sharjah. Afghani spinner Allah Ghazanfar’s 6/26 rattled Bangladeshi Batting and gave 1-0 lead to Afghanistan.
Afghans Batting 1st , faced storms of Mustafizur Rahman (4/58) & Taskin Ahmed (4/53) as they rattled Afghani top and middle order.
However, vital innings of veteran Md Nabi (84), skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (52) powered Afghanistan to 235 runs.
The duo formed a 104 runs partnership when Afghans were struggling on 71-5. Ending cameo of Nangeyalia Kharote (27*) also proved vital.
Defending 236 runs, it was all about Afghani 18 years old off spinner Allah Ghazanfar, who with spell of 6/26 rattled the whole Bangladesh line up on 143 runs. Afghanistan thereby won the Match by 92 runs.
Ghazanfar was adjourned the Man of the Match for his heroic spell.
The 2 teams will face each othe for 2nd ODI on November 9,2024 at the same venue.
