Kolkata: The AFC Cup 2022 preliminary second round encounter between ATK Mohun Bagan and Srilankan outfit Blue Star FC at Y Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan was filled with the chants of ‘Remove ATK’ during the game time.

The ATK Mohun Bagan management had earlier banned the tifos and the banners inside the premises. However, that was not enough to control the upcoming grievances against the merger. A clash broke out between the core ATK and Mohun Bagan fans, wherein a banner with ATK Mohun Bagan’s name was blackened partially to denote just Mohun Bagan. A huge row could have broken out in the stands but was put aside with the efficiency of the officials and the volunteer. A banner stating ‘ BRING BACK OUR MOHUN BAGAN’ was also seen in the stands showcasing their resentment against the merger.
