ACC Emerging T20 Asia Cup 2024, Ind A vs Pak A : India A overpower Pakistan A in close encounter

Al Amerat : India A defeated Pakistan A at Al Amerat Cricket Ground by 7 runs battling a close encounter in ACC Emerging T20 Asia Cup 2024.

Indian bowlers with likes of Anshul Kamboj (3/33), Nishant Sindhu (2/15), Rasikh Salam (2/30) were the pick of bowlers who helped India A achieve the feat defending 184 runs in 2nd innings.

India A gave double blow to Pakistan A defending total, for 21 runs in powerplay.

Yasir Khan (33) & Qasim Akram (27) built a 54 runs partnership to put Pakistan A back on track. However, Nishant Sindhu gave double blow to remove both the dangers in 9th over.

Arafat Minhas (41) took charge from here and continued smacking Indian bowlers, despite losing wickets from other end.

It was in the 17th over that Minhas, fighting a lone battle against Indian bowlers after little help from other end only from Abdul Samad (25) got dismissed on 152 , and game turned completely in India’s favour.

With 17 runs required off the last over, Kamboj came back yet again and conceded just 9 runs to clinch a remarkable victory.

Earlier in the 1st innings, India A took an aggressive approach owing to fiery Batting from top and middle order.

Skipper Tilak Varma (44) ,openers Prabhsimran Singh (36) & Abhishek Sharma (35), Nehal Wadera (25) were instrumental in the good start.

However, India A’s innings slowed down after Nehal’s wicket in 14th over, and Inda A, who were looking for a big score past 200, finished on 183-8 (20), though a big total on the Ground.

Kamboj was adjourned the Man of The Match for his heroic spell.
