Milan: AC Milan continued their unbeaten run the Serie A with an exciting 1-1 draw against rivals Inter Milan keeping up a seven-point lead over the defending Serie A champions. Having gained 32 points from their first 12 games, this is the most they have ever mustered in a similar number of games.

The Milan derby lived up to the expectations and hype right from the first moment itself. Inter Milan took an early lead in the 11th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu scored from an awarded spot-kick against his former club.

The advantage was short-lived, however, around six minutes later Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij headed a howler into his own net, equalizing it for the Rossoneri.

Inter Milan missed out on a chance of gaining a lead, when Rossoneri custodian Ciprian Tatarusanu superbly denied a Lautaro Martinez spot-kick, that even got legendary Paolo Maldini who was in the stands off his seat.

However, substitute Alexis Saelemaekers was really close in handing Internazionale a win in the final stroke of the clock, but unfortunately, his powerful strike went a little off the post.

Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan have dropped points only for the second time currently sitting at the second position with 32 points, above Inter Milan with 25 points. The first position in the league is however secured by Napoli who are still unbeaten as well.

Earlier the same day at Turin, a 91′ minute goal from Juan Cuadrado helped Juventus secure their first win in five matches in the league, currently sitting at the ninth position with 15 points evidently feeling the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo thoroughly.
