Kolkata: Mohammedan Sporting Club continued their impressive campaign with a 2-1 victory over Kalighat SLA at the Mohammedan Sporting Ground today.
The team got off to a perfect start, taking the lead in the opening minutes of the match.
The skipper, Mahitosh calmly converted from the penalty spot to give Mohammedan Sporting an early advantage.
Mohammedan Sporting continued to press forward and were rewarded once again before the half-time break. Lalthankima found the back of the net to double the lead, sending the home side into the interval with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
Kalighat SLA came back stronger in the second half and managed to pull one goal back.
However, Mohammedan Sporting held their ground and successfully defended their lead until the final whistle, securing a 2-1 victory.
With this important win, Mohammedan Sporting Club now have 21 points from 10 matches played so far, further strengthening their position in the CFL points table.
