Kolkata : East Bengal beat Calcutta Customs 2-0 to continue its unbeaten run in the CFL 2026 booking ticket for the Super Six Stage, at the East Bengal Ground.
Manotos Maji and Akash Hemram found the net in the first half as the Red-and-Gold Brigade joined Bhowanipore SC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the next round from its group.
East Bengal started very aggressively right from kick-off and found the breakthrough through Manotos Maji in the fourth minute when captain Tanmoy Das carried the ball into the box and set up Maji for a clinical finish.
Defensive mistakes by Customs led to it conceding another goal when Manoranjan Singh’s failed clearance saw Hemram latch on to the ball and tuck it into the net. The conditions went from bad to worse for Customs when Manoranjan was sent off, but East Bengal failed to exploit the numerical advantage. Eventually East Bengal won 2-0 and took one step closer towards title defense.
