Kolkata : Bengal captain and iconic Batter Abhimanyu Easwaran has acknowledged Bengal T20 League as a major platform in upliftment of Bengal youngsters.
Bengal T20 League season 3 has began with 8 teams battling for 1 glory. Abhimanyu Easwaran is playing for Sobisco Smashers Malda this season. According to him, the league has been instrumental in providing vital platform for players especially the youngsters.
“It (Bengal T20 League) is very special, like how Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB)is organising it, it’s vital platform for all players especially youngsters”.
Many players in Bengal T20 League have played IPL, India, take example of Brijesh Sharma who was brilliant with the Ball for Rajasthan Royals this season. Akash Deep, Mohammad Shami who’ve played for India and IPL teams come here to play which in turn develop the players.
Bengal T20 League also made a mandatory rule for all teams to play an U19 Player in every team. Easwaran believes that this will develop U19 team.
“Many teams playing here (Bengal T20 League 2026) have played IPL, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Indian team. It’s a great platform by CAB especially for youngsters. U19 team will also be developed as 8 or more players from that division are playing (referring to the mandatory rule to play U19 player). It’s a great platform for improving Cricket as youngsters get different bowlers, situation, wickets and platform”.
He also appreciated Eden Gardens wickets and close Matches in Bengal T20 League season 3.
“The wicket (at Eden Gardens) behaved well even after IPL, all matches are close, which is a good sign for Bengal Cricket”.
