Kolkata : Sobisco Smashers Malda defeated Murshidabad Kings by 7 wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, to kick start Bengal T20 League 2026 campaign in style. The match was curtailed to 15 overs due to rain.
Bowling first, Malda constantly built pressure on Murshidabad, stopping the run flow, with 2 wickets in powerplay. Murshidabad never looked settled apart from lone effort from Deepanshu (47) that guided them to 134/7 (20). Malda pacer Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal picked 3 wickets to dismantle the Batting order.
