Kolkata : Bengal and Servotech Siliguri Strikers skipper Anustup Majumdar has shared his special bond with old teammate Wriddhiman Saha, who’s now mentor of the team in Bengal Pro T20 League 2025.
Having played together throughout their career, winning Vijay Hazare Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Anustup revealed that they share special bond.
In an exclusive interview with Sportslight Media, he said, “We’ve very good bonding, we played BCCI 1st Match together, in his (Wriddhiman Saha) last match , I was the captain of Bengal. We’ve also played Districts in U16, U19, U22, where he played for Siliguri and myself for Hooghly. We played Ranji together, won Vijay Hazare Trophy, Duleep Trophy, played for so long, very good bonding, now also we’re working together, he’s doing non playing job (Mentor), I’m fortunately playing, so really good bonding “.
Servotech Siliguri Strikers lost first 2 matches of Bengal Pro T20 League 2025 and started on a poor note, despite bowling well. However, their skipper Anustup is still hoping for comeback. He also revealed that despite things not clicking, their team environment is very good and players have full freedom to express themselves on field.
“I’m hopeful (for comeback), T20 Cricket needs momentum, if you get it, other players perform well. We’re lacking in Batting, fielding, not getting good starts, have problem in middle order, but our bowling is decent. T20 format is played to express ourselves. Team environment is good, although somethings aren’t clicking but it’s T20 Cricket, players get lesser time to think, you get pressurized easily after 2 dots. It’s a new team (Siliguri Strikers), some are unknown to me but there’s big opportunity for them to express. From here Bengal T20 squad will be formed, it’s good platform for young players, hopefully we’ll comeback from next match “, Anustup added.
