Kolkata : In a bizarre state of incident, West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph angrily left the field during 3rd ODI against England at Barbados after a clash with skipper Shai Hope over field placements.

The incident occurred early in the innings after Joseph bowled his 2nd over, despite taking a wicket in it.

Disagreement began after the first delivery of Joseph’s over, when he and Hope had an extended discussion about field placement. England were at 10/1, and Joseph appeared frustrated with the field setup, specifically pointing toward the slips, portraying his unhappiness with it.

Despite the heated exchange, Joseph continued to bowl and delivered 148.2 kph short ball to Jordan Cox which resulted in the his dismissal, as the English Batter gloved the ball to the wicketkeeper Shai Hope .

However, rather than celebrating the wicket, Joseph left the field without speaking to Hope after completing a wicket-maiden.

He angrily pushed waterboy Jayden Seales who came to rubb off Joseph’s sweat with towel, hurled some angry remarks to skipper Hope and left the field with anger. The whole team, crowds seemed shell shocked.

West Indies coach Darren Sammy attempted to calm Joseph outside the boundary, but the fast bowler remained adamant and went to sit in the dugout. West Indies had to field with 10 players for one whole over.

After a brief sit-out, Joseph rejoined the match without further incident, but he resumed bowling later in the 12th over only.

West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has labelled Alzarri Joseph’s behaviour during the third ODI against England as “unacceptable” after the fast bowler left the pitch following a disagreement with captain Shai Hope.

“Behaviour like that is unacceptable on my Cricket field,” Sammy said to TalkSPORT after play. “We will be friends…but in the culture I’m trying to build, that’s unacceptable. We will definitely have a chat about that.”

West Indies eventually won the match and series 2-1 with help of centuries of Keacy Carty and Brandon King who chased down 264 runs target in 43 overs.
