Kolkata : The Home of Cricket Lord’s is set to host it’s 1st ever Women’s Test Cricket, between England and India Women in 2026.
England Women will play one off Test against India Women at Lord’s in 2026. India will also go to England to play 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs next year. However, with the commencement of this red ball series, Lord’s is set to create another history in 2026.
“I’m also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance,” ECB CEO Richard Gould said.
The England Cricket Board (ECB) said, “It has also been confirmed that India Women will return in 2026 for a one-off Test match at Lord’s – the first-ever Women’s Test to be staged at the Home of Cricket,” the ECB added.
Despite playing several white ball matches at Lord’s in past 3 years, England women never played Test Match there. However, this would be the 1st time they’ll host a red ball match.
“England Women have played white-ball matches at Lord’s for the past three years, with another scheduled next year, but it will be the first time the ground has hosted a Women’s Test match”, ECB added.
Since June 1986, India have contested nine Test matches against England on their home turf, with the most recent encounter, which took place at Bristol in June 2021, ending in a draw.
