Trinidad: The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) captain Kieron Pollard played a breathtaking knock of 72 off just 28 balls against defending champions Barbados Tridents. Chasing 149, the Knights were in deep trouble. When their skipper walked in to bat they were reeling at 62 for 5. But the captain Pollard has different plans, he was hitting all the right notes to win the game.

The Trinidadian right-handed delivered a stunning attack to power his team to a two-wicket win. He threw nine massive sixes during his knock to ensure his team the perfect start to the tournament. Then the batsmen at the crease got to bag 7 off 12 balls. Hayden Walsh and Rashid Khan were brought into the field respectively but that made a little difference as Pollard hit the leg spinner for a six too.
Though Kieron was run-out on the first delivery of the final over when his squad needed 8 runs and then Khary Pierre created magic by hitting an excellent six and then took a single to win the game for TKR.
