Khary Pierre’s heroics helps Trinbago Knight Riders register fifth consecutive win

Trinidad: Trinbago Knight Riders clinched their fifth consecutive win over Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets. Khary Pierre scalped three while his spin mate Fawad Ahmed finished with 4-0, 18-0 to destroy the Warriors. 

Match Result :- Guyana Amazon Warriors 112/7 in 20 overs lost to Trinbago Knight Riders 115/3 in 18.2 overs by seven wickets.

 

Opting to bowl first, Sikandar Raza from Knight Riders landed the first blow as he expelled Brandon King. Pierre knocked out Chanderpaul Hemraj in that over and Warriors fallen to 10 for 2. Shimron Hetmyer and Ross Taylor helped the side recover with a 32-run stand while Nicholas Pooran wobbled. Taylor blinked first and was run out trying to steal a single. Hetmyer didn’t score much and Taylor’s run out led to another collapse. Keemo Paul scored 28 off 26 to push the run past 100 but Knight Riders never let the game slip away from their hand.

In the chase, Knight Riders made a measured start. The openers scored 34 before Imran Tahir dismissed Lendl Simmons. Darren Bravo and Tim Seifert associated for a 63- run stand to relief the side home. Tion Webster failed to get going and was dispelled in the 11th over while Colin Munro fell for a first-ball duck.
