Goa: A late equalising goal from Idrissa Sylla helped NorthEast United to hold on ATK Mohun Bagan 1-1 in the first leg of the second Indian Super League semifinal at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday. David Williams was the scorer for ATKMB.
ATKMB started the match in a good fashion looking more threatening in the first half. Williams broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with a cool and calm finish.
In the second half, NorthEast tried everything on the book to score a goal but due to a lack of positive forward, they were missing out on the final third. However, Sylla emerged as the hero when he scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute to head in the final leg with heads held high.
