TRAU hold Real Kashmir; Churchill Brothers ride on Clayvin Zuniga hat-trick

Kolkata: Clayvin Zuniga scored the first hat-trick in the 2021 I-League while Luka Majcen netted a brace as Churchill Brothers crushed Indian Arrows 5-2 at the Kalyani Stadium on Sunday (January 10).

The Red Machines opened the scoring through Majcen who pounced on the rebound after Clayvin Zuniga attempted a sumptuous volley which was saved by the Arrows goalkeeper. The AIFF Developmental side quickly equalised through Vanlalruatfela Thlacheu before Gurkirat Singh extended the lead for them.

However, Churchill kept on attacking with chances were coming thick and heavy. Zuniga dominated to complete his hat-trick in the second half while Majcen added another sealing the deal for his side taking full three points.

In the other match of the day, Real Kashmir drew against TRAU FC at the Mohun Bagan club ground ending 1-1. The Northeastern side opened the scoring just seconds into the match courtesy Komron Tursunov who smashed it home into the top corner of the net.

They dominated the possession throughout the game however the Kashmiri side equalised in the second half through defender Mason Robertson who headed it home from a curling delivery into the box by Sena Ralte. Despite attempting a lot of shots on the target the home side failed to score ending the game with points being shared.
