Goa : Chennaiyin FC failed to beat 10-men SC East Bengal on Monday as the match ended 0-0 at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. East Bengal played 10-men for a lion share of time yet they managed to earn a point from the match.

The match was between two teams who were getting better each match and aiming for the top four position, this result doesn’t help any of the side yet a point is better than losing.

The match started with Chennaiyin attacking from the first quarter of the first half. Esmael Goncalves came close to scoring but stopped by Debjit Majumder.

In the 31st minute Ajay Chettri of East Bengal, was given the marching order and the Red and Gold brigade were down to 10-men for rest of the match.

In the second half, Chennaiyin took the extra man advantage and came up fiercely yet failed to score or they were being denied by the safe hands of Debjit Majumder. He has become their wall and he is providing them with important saves in every other match.

East Bengal would be happy with this draw, after they had to play 10-men for 60 mins. Certainly a important draw away from home will lift the confidence of Robbie Fowler’s side.
