Chester-le-Street : Weeks after winning first ever T20I series against England, India yet again proved their mettle by winning ODI series against England 2-1. In 3rd ODI, India defeated England by 13 runs at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street to bag the series.
Batting first, Smriti Mandhana (45), Pratika Rawal (26) gave strong opening start with 61 runs partnership. Harleen Deol (45) then notched up 81 runs stand with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (102).
Kaur went on to smash her ton, playing knock of 102 (84) with 14 boundaries. She also built another vital 110 runs partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues (50) , who scored her half century.
Richa Ghosh (38*) gave finishing touch with her cameo as India ended on 318-5 (50).
Defending 319, Kranti Goud dismissed both English openers on 8 runs.
Emma Lamb (68), skipper Nat Sciver Brunt (98) notched mammoth 162 runs partnership before both falling on 195 runs.
Sophia Dunkley (34), Davidson Richards (44) desperately tried to finish the game for England but Kranti Goud picked 6 wickets to restrict them on 305 (49.5).
Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded player of the match and series.
