Kolkata : As per reports, Royal Challengers Bengaluru talisman and highest IPL run getter Virat Kohli gave clearance on returning back to RCB captaincy in IPL 2025.
Kohli stepped down from captaincy ahead of IPL 2022 and South African veteran Faf Du Plessis, who was roped in that season, replaced Kohli as the captain.
As per several reports, RCB intend to move on from 40 years old Faf, with no surety on his longevity owing to his age and set to return to their former captain Virat Kohli.
The chase master Kohli previously captained the side from 2013-2021 and came nearest in IPL 2016 final but fell short against David Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He handed over the captaincy to Faf in 2022 , under whom RCB qualified for playoffs 2 times.
Although an official statement awaits, but RCB would like to return back to Kohli and taste trophy success for 1st time in IPL.
