Kolkata : Virat Kohli, India’s veteran Batter, is likely to play County Cricket, ahead of Test series in England from June 20, 2025.
Kohli’s form hit rock bottom in recent past. The last few Tests especially the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 , have not gone according to his plans.
In the Border Gavaskar Trophy, he found his old weakness back, edging 5th stump Ball and getting out caught on slips, a typical dismissal that he developed during 2014 England tour, against James Anderson.
Now, as per reports, Virat Kohli is likely to prepare to get accustomed to English conditions by playing County Cricket ahead of June 20,2025 , 1st Test at Leeds.
However, these are all subjected to Royal Challengers Benagluru (RCB) performance in IPL 2025. The league is set to end on May 25, 2025. If RCB qualify for IPL final or playoffs, Kohli will have roughly 14 days to prepare for the English series by playing county.
On other hand, if RCB disqualify before reaching playoffs, Kohli will travel to England early and have enough time to prepare.
