Kolkata : Sobisco Smashers Malda defeated Rashmi Medinipur Wizards by 3 wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in last ball thriller, in Bengal Pro T20 League 2025, with help of Viraj Krishna’s match winning half century.
Medinipur Batting first, saw Ranjot Khaira (31), Vibek Singh (51) notch 82 runs partnership. Priyanshu Srivastav (29), Ritwik Roy Chowdhury (20*) played crucial knocks later and brought the first innings score to 158/7 (20). Brijesh Sharma from Malda picked 3 wickets.
Chasing 159 runs, Malda had start to forget as they’re reduced to 70/6 (12.1).
However, Viraj Krishna (54*) played match winning knock of 54* (29) including 7 boundaries and 1 six. He came under pressure and completely turned the game on. With 4 required off the last Ball, he flicked towards deep square leg beating the fielder and winning an absolute thriller for Malda. They’re now at number 5 in points table.
