Indian boxers delivered a dominant performance at the Seychelles National Day Boxing Tournament, finishing at the top of the medal tally with a total of seven medals, including three gold, three silver and one bronze. The event concluded at the Paradise Arena in Mahe, Seychelles.
India edged past Mauritius by a single medal to claim the top spot in the overall standings, showcasing depth and talent across weight categories. One of the standout moments came from Himanshu Sharma (50kg), who clinched the gold medal via a walkover in the final, while Ashish Mudshaniya (55kg) earned a hard-fought 4-1 split decision victory, reflecting India’s strength and determination in the ring. The Indian contingent also bagged three silver medals, further cementing their consistent performance and added one bronze to round off their medal haul. The tournament, held in celebration of Seychelles’ National Day, featured strong participation from regional and international boxers. India’s success at the event reinforces its growing reputation in international boxing and provides valuable exposure for the country’s emerging talent on the global stage.
