Kolkata : The Paris Paralympics is set to kick start on August 28, 2024. Indian Contingent will see record 84 athletes, highest ever. PCI coach Satyanarayana is hopeful that India will bag atleast 25 medals.
The athletes will field in 11 different Sports, highest ever in Indian Paralympics history.
In last Paralympics in Tokyo, India bagged 19 medals. PCI coach Satyanarayana is hopeful that this year, Indian Contingent will break that tally and clinch atleast 25 medals.
“Paris Paralympics will start from August 28. We are going to have a very strong contingent of 84 members. For the first time in history, we are sending players for 11 sports. Definitely, India will win more medals than the last Paralympics,” Satyanarayana told ANI.
“This time, not less than 25 medals. Last time, we had just won five gold medals. We want to change the colour of medal this time and increase the tally. Most athletes are doing fine performance-wise,” he added.
India, with 54 Athletes in Tokyo Paralympics bagged 19 medals, creating history. This time with highest ever contingent, they’ll look to bag more medals to rewrite history, starting from August 28.
