Kolkata : As per multiple sources, IPL 2024 champion Kolkata Knight Riders is all set to target an Indian left arm pacer in IPL 2025 Mega auction on November 24-25, 2024.

Last week in retention list, Punjab Kings surprisingly released notable players including their star bowler Arshdeep Singh, and only retained 2 uncapped players – Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh.

Days after this, Arshdeep deleted all posts, reels, videos, pictures and everything related to Punjab Kings from his Instagram account, apart from 2 pictures. This sparked huge speculations that he won’t be in Punjab’s demands in the auction.

Now, as per multiple reports, Kolkata Knight Riders are interested and ready to give all out efforts to grab the prolific left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh in their squad in the auction.

KKR used up their retention limits, picking Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarti, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh (uncapped).

They left out their premier left arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Therefore, Arshdeep, will serve as a great replacement for Starc in their lineup, having ability to bowl with both new and old ball, at beginning and death. Besides this, he’s a hard hitter at the tail.

Last season, the 24 years took 19 wickets in 14 matches for Punjab and was highest wicket taker for the franchise, who couldn’t make it to playoffs. He was the 5th joint highest wicket taker in IPL 2024.

Besides this, he was also the 2nd highest wicket taker in ICC T20 WC 2024 with 17 wickets in 8 matches and played vital role in India’s trophy victory.

Arshdeep’s inclusion in KKR lineup will be vital to strengthen their bowling department. Therefore, the pacer is in KKR’s radar and will go try to rope him in.
