Kolkata : Indian Wicket Keeper Batsman Ishan Kishan is likely to make a domestic comeback for Jharkhand & might lead them in upcoming Domestic season 2024/25. As per reports, Ishan has confirmed his availability to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association.

Ishan who last featured in international Cricket in 2023 was slated from Central Contract for his refusal to play domestic Cricket despite BCCI’s guidelines along with Shreyas Iyer. Though Iyer returned to Domestic & came back to international Cricket in ongoing Sri Lanka series, Ishan didn’t.

Ishan, however, played the full IPL 2024 season for Mumbai Indians. It was speculated that Ishan’s unwillingness to Cricket grew due to selector’s constantly overlooking him due to veteran KL Rahul’s inclusion in the team , who was in terrific form. A refusal to play domestic Cricket ignited BCCI’s wrath on him & scrapping his Central Contract.

Now, Jharkhand State Cricket Association has included him in the 25-pre season probables for upcoming Domestic Season.

However, Ishan will remain unavailable for Duleep Trophy next month but likely to feature in later Domestic tournaments including Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

If Ishan plays for Jharkhand in upcoming Domestic season , his chance of re-inclusion in BCCI’s Central Contract is high, thereby, an evident return to Indian team subjected to performance & fitness.
