Mumbai: Mumbai Indians knocked out Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022 Match 59, winning by five wickets and allowing RCB to claim the fourth and final playoff position on Saturday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
MI lost Rohit Sharma early in their pursuit of a goal of 160. Ishan Kishan and Dewald Brevis, though, got them back into the game until they were both eliminated in rapid succession.
Tim David and Tilak Varma had cameos of 34 and 21 as MI chased down the score with five balls to play as the needed run rate increased. Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly for Mumbai Indians, limiting Delhi Capitals to a score of 159 for seven.

DC were floundering at 50 for four after being called into bat but Rovman Powell and Rishabh Pant got their innings back on track. Ramandeep Singh, on the other hand, fired Pant to halt DC’s development. In the third over, Daniel Sams removed David Warner to give MI an early lead. After that, Jasprit Bumrah struck twice in as many overs, dismissing Mitchell Marsh and Prithvi Shaw. Mayank Markande then struck again, this time defeating Sarfaraz Khan. As DC fell short of the 160-run mark, Ramandeep Singh added a couple of late wickets.
