According to the 2022-23 format, the top 2 teams secure direct semifinal berths, while teams ranked 3rd to 6th compete in single-leg playoffs for the remaining spots.

Contrary to their rival club Mohun Bagan who won ISL 2024-25 League shield already, the Red – Gold Brigade almost lost all hopes of qualifying to Super 6 after series of losses. However, they are now back in form defeating Punjab, Mohammedan, Hyderabad consecutively, bringing back qualification hopes alive.

How can East Bengal qualify for Indian Super League playoffs?

East Bengal will have to win all its remaining 2 games and need NorthEast United to lose its other match or hope that Mumbai City FC fails to collect any more points.

East Bengal are currently placed at number 8 in ISL 2024-25 points table with 8 wins in 22 Matches and 27 points. Mohun Bagan (League Shield winner), FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC have already qualified into the playoffs, and now the battle for remaining 2 spots is becoming more intense with progress of league.
