Paris : Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has announced retirement from wrestling following her disqualification from Paris Olympics 2024.

“Goodbye wrestling 2001-2024,” Phogat concluded, adding that she will “forever be indebted to everyone”.
Vinesh started this Olympics campaign with a hat trick of wins, including beating Japanese World Champion Yui Susaki and marching to the final. However, during Weigh-in ahead of the final Gold Medal match she was found 100 grams overweight & therefore, as per rules got disqualified from the whole tournament , thereby, losing all medal hopes.
