Leeds : Indian lower order yet again faced great collapse despite centuries from KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant on Day 4 of First Test at Headingley, Leeds, against England.
India ended Day 3 on 90-2, with skipper Shubman Gill and KL Rahul at crease.
India’s Day 4 started off with low key, as they lost skipper Shubman Gill (8) early , as he was out played on off Brydon Carse.
KL Rahul (137) and Rishabh Pant (118) notched built the innings, both scoring individual centuries, and vital 195 runs partnership.
After dismissals of Rahul, Pant, Karun Nair (20) on 335, India lost remaining 5 wickets for just 29 runs, with Ravindra Jadeja (25*) holding from one end. India set 371 runs target for England.
Josh Tongue and Brydon Carse both took respective 3-fers.
England, coming to Bat are now on 21-0 at the end of Day 4, with Zak Crawley (12*) and Ben Duckett (9*) at crease and 350 runs to win on final day.
