Copa America 2021: Argentina, Chile seek full points; Bolivia strive for a win

Argentina - Lionel Messi

Brasília: Argentina and Uruguay face each other in a mega clash this Saturday, both being favourites to qualify from Group B of Copa America. Argentina had a little disappointing start to their campaign when they could secure only 1 point against Chile whereas their opponent Uruguay are yet to play and would attempt to start their register with a win.

Being one of the favourites to win the tournament, La Albiceleste would be desperate for a win to increase their chances of qualifying in one of the confirmed spots . Argentina would make an endeavor to win the competition losing four of the last six finals and also failing to win it since 1993. They take on Uruguay who would try to start their campaign with a win after falling to consecutive goalless draws in the World Cup Qualifiers. Now, La Celeste will be focused on winning this for 16th time since last in 2011.

Argentina would inevitably be led by Lionel Messi who might find his Barcelona team mate Sergio Aguero by him, replacing Gonzalez who have had an underwhelming performance against Chile. Lionel Scaloni is very Unlikely to change his well performing midfield unit consisting Lo Celso, Rodrigo De Paul and Paredes.

The Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani should be back this time after his suspension and would look forward to form a lethal duo with Atletico Madrid’s Luis Suarez. Both of them had an amazing campaign at their clubs scoring winners in the most important times. Jose Gimenez and Captain Diego Godin are most seemingly to partner up at the other end forming the heart of the defence.

With a commendable draw against Argentina, Chile would look forward to register their first victory in Copa America 2021, as they face Bolivia in Cuiaba. They would like to add a victory to their name on Saturday. Bolivia will look to bounce back to winning ways after they fell into a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Paraguay. Ceaser Farias’ men would therefore be very keen on registering a victory before they face Argentina and Uruguay – the favourites of the group. Bolivia will be missing the services of talisman Marcelo Moreno, who has recently been tested positive for COVID – 19. Juan Carlos Arce is most seemingly to replace Juame, and would add a lot of experience to the final third of Bolivia.

Chile are likely to remain the same with Claudio Bravo under the bar, Gary Medel in defence and Arturo Vidal and Eduardo Vargas up front. They would also be having defender Guillermo Maripan who was one of the best players last day.
