Puducherry : Bengal Under-19 men’s team registered back-to-back wins in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy Elite after a dominant 84-run victory over Madhya Pradesh at the CAP Ground 4, Puducherry, on Saturday.
Opting to bat, Bengal scored 218/9 in 50 overs. Sayan Paul (70 off 80) played a fighting knock while Aditya Roy (45) and Ankit Chatterjee (34) made vital contributions.
Chasing the target, Madhya Pradesh lost wickets at regular intervals and were struggling at 102/7 in 40 overs when rain stopped play. With the weather showing no signs of improvement, Bengal were declared winners via VJD method.
Rohit (3-20), Ashutosh Kumar (2-23), Rohit Kumar Das (1-18) and Agastya Shukla (1-20) were brilliant with the ball for Bengal.
