Kolkata : BCCI Men’s Selection Committee has announced India’s T20I squad for the upcoming white-ball home series against the West Indies.
Jasprit Bumrah, who is part of Asian Games 2026 and currently playing Afghanistan T20I series, has been rested and young pace guns Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav along with experienced Arshdeep Singh have included in the 15-member team as cover led by Shreyas Iyer.
Besides Bumrah, Hardik Pandya who’s currently recovering at BCCI CoE and recently picked up a niggle which also ruled him out of Afghanistan T20I series is excluded from the squad as he continues the recovery process.
The squad features explosive fire powers like Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube. Tilak Varma will serve as deputy of captain Shreyas Iyer who recently won T20I series against Afghanistan.
Veteran spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi will further strength the spin department along with Washington Sundar who recently recovered from injury. Varun Chakaravarthy has yet again been ruled out of selection due to ongoing problem of side strain.
Nitish Kumar Reddy also made it to the five-match series but the BCCI also announced that the all-rounder will be pulled out of the Asian Games squad and added to the ODI squad to face the West Indies.
