Bengaluru: East Zone defeated Central Zone by 4 wickets at BCCI CoE Ground 1, Bengaluru on Day 3 of Duleep Trophy 2026 clash.
Bengal and Indian ace pacers Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar dismantled the Rajat Patidar led side while bowling in 2nd innings for East Zone. While Shami picked up 3/56, Mukesh grabbed 4/44. The duo bundled Central Zone for 158. Shami also completed his 900+ FC wickets in this very match earlier.
Chasing 159, despite Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (40) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (24) giving 61 runs opening stand, East Zone Batting faced turbulences with loss of quick wickets. Central Zone spinner Harsh Dubey who also picked 4 wickets in first innings, yet again grabbed 4 more wickets to create pressure on Ishan Kishan led East Zone.
Captain Ishan Kishan (39*) played crucial knock with 4 boundaries and a six guided East Zone to 4 wickets win and a spot in Duleep Trophy final after 13 years.
