India veteran Virat Kohli makes a return to the 50-over side after missing out on the Afghanistan series with a hamstring injury, sustained during IPL 2026 final, although his availability is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI, which is set to be conducted on June 22.

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the series after failing to regain fitness from the injury sustained during the IPL season with the Mumbai Indians.

Despite left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal impressing with his second ODI century against Afghanistan in Chennai, he has been omitted from the side upon Kohli’s return. India’s pace icon and pillar Jasprit Bumrah will also mark his return for his first national assignment since the IPL 2026 season. The upcoming series will be the first time Bumrah has featured in an ODI since the 2023 World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad.

Mohammad Siraj has also been notably omitted from the squad probably for workload management.

KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan have been named as the designated wicketkeeping options.

India’s spin department will be led by Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar. Axar has been preferred over Ravindra Jadeja who doesn’t find a place in the squad. Jasprit Bumrah headlines the pace attack that also includes Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Gurnoor Brar, who picked up 7 wickets in his debut series against Afghanistan.
