Kolkata : Sobisco Smashers Malda defeated Rashmi Nes Medinipur Wizards by 11 runs (DLS) at JU Campus, Kolkata in rain affected clash.
Put into Bat, Medinipur only managed 101/6 (20). Apart from Riya Goswami (40*) and skipper Hrishita Basu (21*), rest of the Batting failed badly.
Malda skipper Saika Ishaque picked 3 wickets to dismantle the Batting order.
Chasing 102, Malda lost Aruna (0) in first over. Anwasha Saha (10) and Shreya Roy (8) departed cheaply. However, skipper Saika Ishaque played gem of a knock with 51*(46) comprising 5 boundaries. Mamata Kisku (12*) accompanied her well.
When Malda’s reached 84/3 (15.2), 11 runs ahead of DLS, rain intervened to an extent where match couldn’t have continued, as a result, it was rewarded to Malda with Saika being Player of the match.
