Soon after, Naman Dhir was bowled by Hosein for a duck, leaving MI struggling at 11/3 after just 3 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav (36 off 30) and Tilak Varma (37 off 29) tried to rescue MI, but both were dismissed by Akeal Hosein, who came in as an impact player and finished with excellent figures of 4/17 in 4 overs. Alongside him, Noor Ahmad struck twice in consecutive deliveries to remove Hardik Pandya and Sherfane Rutherford. Eight Mumbai Indians (MI) batters were dismissed for single-digit scores as they struggled badly against spin.
