Kalyani : Jammu & Kashmir defeated Bengal by 6 wickets at Kalyani in Ranji Trophy 2025-26 semi final and entered their maiden final, a historic leap.
In form Bengal, Batting first at home ground saw Sudip Gharami (146) smashing century. The innings was well supported by skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran (49), Shahbaz Ahmed (42) and Sumanta Gupta (39), as Bengal posted mammoth 328 runs.
Kashmiri Batting was well supported by skipper Paras Dogra (58), Abdul Samad (82), Auqib Nabi (42) and Yudhvir Singh (33). However, they were restricted to 302 runs as Mohammed Shami’s (8/90) storm of 8 wickets blew them away, and Kashmir failed to gain lead.
However, the tables turned in 2nd innings, what looked like Bengal’s win, became opposite. Kashmiri pacers Auqib Nabi (4/36) and Sunil Kumar (4/27) picked 4 wickets each and restricted Bengal to 99, setting only 126 runs target for Kashmir, who were playing maiden Semi Final in Ranji Trophy.
Kashmir lost 2 wickets by end of Day 3 for 12 runs while chasing. However, Vanshaj Sharma (43*), Abdul Samad (30*), Shubham Pundir (27) guided the Paras Dogra led Kashmir to chase the target and an entry to maiden Ranji Trophy final.
