Birmingham : AB De Villiers smashed his 3rd ton of WCL 2025 as South Africa Champion defeat Pakistan Champion by 9 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
South Africa bowling first picked early wicket of Kamran Akmal (2). However, heroic knocks of Sharjeel Khan (76), Umar Amin (36*), Asif Ali (28*) guided Pakistan to huge total of 195-5 (20). Hardus Viljoen and Wayne Parnell picked 2 wickets each for South Africa.
Chasing 196 runs, South Africa lost lone wicket Hashim Amla (18) after 72 runs opening stand.
However, skipper AB De Villiers smashed his 3rd hundred of WCL 2025. With an unbeaten knock of 120* (60), comprising 7 sixes and 12 boundaries, and 125*(65) runs match winning partnership with JP Duminy (50*), he guided South Africa past the target in 16.5 overs to clinch the title.
