ENG vs IND, 4th Test, Day 1: India lose 4 wickets despite Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan’s tremendous fight

Manchester : India lost 4 wickets by end of Day 1 of 4th Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy despite half centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan at Manchester.

Batting first, Indian openers Jaiswal (58) and KL Rahul (46) gave strong start with 94 runs opening stand. After both the openers were dismissed on 120 runs, India lost their skipper Shubman Gill (12) on 140 runs, being LBW while attempting to leave an inswinger of Ben Stokes.

Sai Sudharsan (61), completing his maiden Test half century notched 72 runs partnership with Rishabh Pant (37*). However, Pant got injured later in the innings and Sudharsan after short partnership with Ravindra Jadeja (19*) fell prey to Stokes.

The day ended with Jadeja and Shardul Thakur (19*) staying at crease and 264-4 on board.
