London : Despite an english dominance throughout Day 2 of 3rd Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Jasprit Bumrah with 5-fer and KL Rahul with his half century stood firm against England, at Lord’s, London.
England ended Day 1 on 251-4, with Joe Root and Ben Stokes at crease.
Jasprit Bumrah started the day picking early 3 wickets of Ben Stokes (44), centurion Joe Root (104), Chris Woakes (0).
However, things turned around when Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) notched up 84 runs partnership for 8th wicket.
Bumrah and Md Siraj cleaned up the tail as England posted 387 runs. Indian talisman pacer Jasprit Bumrah picked his maiden 5-fer and etched his name on Lord’s Honours board. Siraj picked 2 wickets.
Coming to Bat , India lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) early on 13 runs off Jofra Archer.
Karun Nair (40) and KL Rahul notched up 61 runs partnership. However, by the end of day 2, India lost both Nair and in form skipper Shubman Gill (16).
The Day ended with Rahul completing his half century and Rishabh Pant (19*) supporting him well as India put up 145-3, trailing by 242 runs.
