Real Madrid Star Risks Lengthy 4-12 Game Ban After Explosive Referee Clash

27th April 2025, Kolkata :  One of Real Madrid’s most seasoned player, Antonio Rudiger’s suspension could be a threat to the team. He can be facing a historic 4-12 match ban after an ugly altercation with a referee De Burgos Bengoetxea during a recent match. An official investigation is lead by The Spanish Federation (RFEF) for the veteran’s actions, which included alleged verbal abuse and physical contact with the official.

Several reports state that the incident took place during the closing stages of the match, when tension was quite high. The player was frustrated with several controversial decisions, his alleged confrontation and aggressive behaviour towards the referee immediately caught the attention of league officials. If found guilty, he could face a minimum suspension of four matches and in the worst-case scenario, up to twelve. This level of punishment is rarely seen, particularly for a player of his calibre.

Real Madrid appears to be closely monitoring the situation and preparing a defence to potentially shorten the ban. However, the disciplinary code is severe when it comes to referee abuse, and any physical contact with match officials is treated with the utmost seriousness.

Losing a senior figure at such a critical stage of the season would be a massive blow to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, especially in the season with important domestic and European games approaching. The club is expected to make an official statement once the disciplinary committee delivers its verdict in the coming days.
