Sharjah : England defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs at Sharjah, defending 119 runs, the lowest total ever defended in Women’s T20 World Cup history.
Defending the low total, English bowlers with likes of Linsey Smith, Charlotte Dean bagged 2-fers with a check in run rate and kept Bangladesh under complete control.
Other bowlers like experienced Sophie Eccleston, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sarah Glenn made Bangladesh Batters toil for each run.
Despite Sobhana Mostary (44) fighting a lone battle, Bangladesh were restricted to just 97 runs in their 20 overs innings.
Earlier in 1st innings, English too struggled with Bat. Fahima Khatun, Ritu Moni, Nahida Akter broke English middle order.
Wyatt Hodge’s (41) handy knock helped them reach 118 runs to fight for.
Hodge was also adjourned the Player of The Match for her performance.
