Kolkata : According to reports, Gautam Gambhir has demanded senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah to remain available for ODI Series against Sri Lanka later this month.
After the T20 WC win, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma opted out of the Sri Lanka tour. Jasprit Bumrah also is said to be unavailable to manage his workload.
India have less number of ODIs before ICC Champions Trophy 2025 & there’s more than 2 months break before Bangladesh series.
Considering these facts, the Indian Head coach Gautam Gambhir reportedly urged the seniors not to take rest and play the series against Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka series will start from July 27 & end on August 7.
