Shafali Varma’s double hundred, Sneh Rana’s 10-fer help India register historic Test win against South Africa

Chennai : India Women Team defeated South Africa Women by 10 Wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai in One off Test Match to secure a historic win.

In 1st innings, India scored 603-6 , registering the highest Test total in Women’s Cricket history surpassing Australia.

Shafali Varma’s (205) double hundred, Smriti Mandana’s (149) ton, accompanied by Richa Ghosh (86), Harmanpreet Kaur (69), Jemimah Rodrigues (55) helped India touch the milestone.

South African Batting of 1st innings was demolished by Sneh Rana (8/77), who picked 8-fer & enforced Follow On to South Africa.

Batting in their 2nd innings, following on, South African Batting challenged, toiled Indian Bowlers.

Skipper Laura Wolvaardt (122), Sune Luus (109) helped South Africa reach 373 runs, setting a target of 37 runs for India.

Indian openers Shafali Varma (24*) & Shubha Satheesh (13*) chased the total down with ease, winning by 10 wickets.

Sneh Rana was adjourned the Player of The Match for her performance.
