Bengaluru : Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, qualifying for playoffs.

RCB not only needed to win this Match but also with a good run rate. That is, to defeat CSK by a margin of 18+ runs of chase the target within 18.1 overs.

RCB won 6th consecutive Match this season after being down to 1 win from 7 Matches

Defending 219 (actually 201 to qualify) runs, RCB bowler took 2 wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad (0) and Daryll Mitchell (4) in powerplay for 19 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane (33), Rachin Ravindra (61) built a 66 runs partnership.

After their dismissal, the middle order slowed down, losing wickets.

However Ravindra Jadeja (42*) & Mahendra Singh Dhoni (25) tried their best to win the match for CSK but failed.

Yash Dayal, despite being hit for a 6 in last over’s 1st Ball defended 17 runs, to ensure qualification for RCB.

Earlier in the 1st innings, Virat Kohli (47) and Faf Du Plessis (54) gave RCB a flying start.

Even after their dismissal Rajat Patidar (41), Cameron Green (38*) & rest of the middle order took RCB to 218 runs, which they defended.

Skipper Faf was adjourned the Man of the Match for his heroics.
