Lucknow: Indian bowler Yuzvendra Chahal surpassed his colleague Jasprit Bumrah to become the leading wicket-taker for India in T20Is during the first T20I against Sri Lanka at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday.
In his 53rd T20I, the leg-spinner took his 67th wicket, putting him one ahead of Bumrah, who has 66 wickets from 55 innings. Ravichandran Ashwin, an off-spinner, ranks third on the list with 61 wickets in 51 games.
Chahal reached the milestone by dismissing Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka, who attempted a revere-sweep and picked out Bhuvneshwar Kumar at a backward point.
