Germanpreet Singh found a superb opportunity to score the equaliser moments before the drinks break but his shot went wide, much to the shock of his teammates.
Sahal Abdul Samad was there to extend the lead of the Yellow Army as he scored from inside the box which resulted due to a sloppy clearance from Kaith, who happened to hand the ball to KBFC forwards in his own half. Sahal’s initial shot was blocked by Reagan Singh but the young midfielder made no mistake while dealing with the rebound and calmly put the ball in the back of the net.
After the match resumed for the second half, Adrian Luna scored his first goal of the season with a powerful strike using his right foot. A lack of communication amongst the Chennaiyin defenders resulted in the goal. Kerala Blasters FC will face next Jamshedpur FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Sunday (December 26). Chennaiyin FC would get a week’s rest before they face Bengaluru FC at the same venue on Thursday ( December 30).
