Kolkata : Mohun Bagan AC defeated Kidderpore Sporting by 5 wickets in JC Mukherjee Trophy 2026 Semi Final at JU Campus, in a close encounter.
Mohun Bagan Bowling first saw Kidderpore openers Aditya Sharma (65) and Saurabh Singh (23) put 91 runs opening stand. However, Aamir Gani put halt in their fast paced run scoring dismissing both openers in quick successive. Rajkumar Pal and Pradipta Pramanik also removed Shuvam Dey (10) and Badal Singh (11) as Kidderpore faced minor collapse.
With 148-5, Sandeep Kumar Tomar (49*) took matters in his own hands, smashing 49* (23) including 6 sixes and a boundary. He was well supported by Pramod Chandila (18*), as Kidderpore raced to challenging total of 201/5 (20).
Chasing 202, Mohun Bagan were reduced to 82/3 in 9.2 overs, including captain Abhimanyu Easwaran (27).
Chirag Gandhi (62) took proceedings on his shoulder, and smashed 62 (40) with 9 boundaries and 1 six. At the other end he found perfect partner in Shakir Habib Gandhi (23) and together they stiched 70 runs partnership. Yet again, the ship began to tumble as Mohun Bagan lost the pair, and were struggling at 173-5 (17.4).
With 29 required off 14 balls, Pradipta Pramanik smashed a six and two boundaries to bring the equation to 12 required off the last over. Jesal Karia hammered a six in first ball and a boundary in fourth ball off Saksham Sharma to book Mohun Bagan’s place in the final.
Chirag Gandhi was awarded Man of the match for his match winning knock.
Mohun Bagan will face Bhowanipur Club on 27th May at Eden Gardens for the final. Bhowanipur defeated Kalighat by 46 runs in the semi final with help of Yuvraj Deepak Keswani’s ton and 2-fers from Md Kaif, Anurag Tiwari, Vinay Chaudhary, Toufik Uddin Mondal. The battle between Mohun Bagan and Bhowanipur in Final at Eden Gardens will be a treat to watch for Cricket lovers.
